And, recently, I attended a screening of The Queen. Helen Mirren alone is worth the ticket. Director Stephen Frears holds a strong and knowledgable perspective on the Queen's situation, and the depiction of the royal family is remarkable. I appreciated the film's tone, one that was somber and dignified, just like the Queen herself. Everyone grieves in different ways, and being overly dramatic in grief does not make your grief any "better" than quiet grief. One Londoner said that it was "disgusting" that the Queen did not comment, but, to her, the people were disgusting for intruding on a private matter. The movie was interesting, witty at parts, and incredibly well done. Well done, indeed.
